Targeting high-risk, high-impact areas
Our interventions are focused on sectors and regions where the potential for impact is greatest — and where the risks of negative interactions between business, human rights, and the environment are most severe. These are often middle- or low-income countries where rights are undermined, power imbalances persist, and existing systems tend to exclude rights holders.
Our key priority areas include:
✔️ Decent Work: Promoting fair, safe, and dignified working conditions in global value chains.
✔️ Public Procurement: Leveraging public procurement to drive positive change throughout value chains.
✔️ Human Rights Defenders: Supporting individuals and communities that protect human rights and the environment.
✔️ Business in Conflict: Promoting responsible business conduct in conflict-affected and high-risk contexts.
✔️ Just Transition: Ensuring that the shift to renewable energy is not only green, but also socially just.
✔️ Human Rights Due Diligence: Advancing rights-based processes and meaningful dialogue with rights holders.
✔️ Climate Finance: Advocating for climate finance that includes and benefits those most affected by climate change.
